Lost Paradise / 失樂園

Title: Lost Paradise / 失樂園
Medium: Watercolor
Size: A1 size, 594mm x 841mm

far... far away in the land of lost paradise
a place where tomorrow is grand,
everything goes just as planned.
a place where songs are written, I'm told.
with calligraphy brushes and ink of gold.
where one can rest upon a cloud,
and dreaming all day is always allowed.
it has a place where faeries dance,
in the forest where kodama playing hide and seek with you
in this place of no tomorrow,
there is no pain or sorrow.
yet it exist, strange as it seems,
but sadly only in the world of dreams.
so should you tire of this common world,
of its sorrow, hatred and cold.
think then of the lost paradise,
in the world of dreams where life is grand.
should you wish for a better time,
without hatred fear or crime.
there is only one thing that must be done,
change the world one by one.
the world can change its point of view,
but it must only start with you.
if one believes that it can be done,
the world can be changed one by one.
changed to a place like the lost paradise
to a place where children can play .
a place where there is no fear
then the lost paradise would be called here.

100 Friends 100 Artists 100 Inspirations, Group Exhibition Curated by :phunk Studio - Dream Chaser / 追夢人

Starting out with nothing except a burning passion to follow their dream, the father of Modern Chinese art, Wu Guanzhong and the successful :phunk studio today is a glittering example for me as an artist to be fearless and tireless, despite being penniless and in charging towards an endless dream.

Both Wu Guanzhong and :phunk studio were a huge influence on my work. The contemporary Chinese painter has always been a thinker and philosopher who use art as his medium for expressing complex ideology. :phunk studio’s passion for art whose  works visually conveyed the idealism of every true-blue artist which is to 'do what you love' has inspired me with unlimited motivation and peerless endurance. They constantly challenge the conventional notion and definition of the artist and the commercial design studio by blurring the boundaries between both, mixing neo-pop art ideology with postmodernist design sensibilities. Their cross-disciplinary approach is best described as "an aesthetic collective consciousness" focused on experimenting with new approaches to visual expressions.

As Wu Guanzhong, once said, “There is no boundary in terms of art; art belongs to the world, not to a certain nation or country.” It all starts with your desire taking the first step chasing towards your dream.

The Sound of Happiness / 幸福的呼喚

The Sound of Happiness / 幸福的呼喚 talks about reminiscing the childhood days of innocence, the simplicity of life. Childhood is undoubtedly the most wonderful period of a person’s life. Sadly once gone by, it doesn’t come back again. Sometimes people reminisce, and fondly look back upon their youth, and say ‘I wish nothing more but to be a child again, and to go back to my childhood’. And it seems that such a sentiment is not so much for the purpose of wanting to be a child again, but rather to feel everything to the degree of purity that we were able to feel in childhood, in which, there were fewer circumstances to taint our perceptions. The term ‘childhood’ in my point of view, enters a metaphorical territory, it means more than just an age; in the context of ‘freedom’, the term ‘childhood’ becomes an allegory which reflects any period in which it is entirely possible for an individual to revel in the simple pleasures of life without the anxiety of wanting more or filtering in antagonistic influences, and being free because of it.

The Garden of Eden - Adam, Eve and the Serpent

Theme: "Mickey Mouse" & "Minnie Mouse"
Concept: The Garden of Eden - Adam, Eve and the Serpent

I should have known you were fake
I should have known you were nothing but a lying snake
Tempting me in an offer I couldn’t refuse to take
You gave me something that wasn’t yours to partake
I ate the fruit and felt shame but I will not take the blame
I heard the earth quake and didn’t know what was at stake
I didn’t know that the sin I committed was this great
The punishment was not worth the fruit I ate
Don’t look at me that way
It was an honest mistake.
